About Omaha

Omaha is an urban oasis on the plains conveniently located in the heart of the country.

More than $8 billion in new development is reshaping Omaha and the convention attendee experience. The newly opened The RiverFront is a 72-acre revitalized space downtown with performance pavilions, interactive water features, and the Kiewit Luminarium STEM discovery center. Beginning in 2027, a state-of-the-art streetcar system will connect midtown and downtown Omaha.

Omaha’s airport (OMA) offers nonstop service to 30+ destinations and is only 4 miles from the downtown convention district. The airport will double in size by 2028 after a near $1 billion expansion project.

In the heart of Omaha’s convention district is CHI Health Center Omaha, which has 346,000 square feet of convention space and connects via skywalk to the 600-room Hilton Omaha. Within one mile are 3,500+ hotel rooms. Also close by are entertainment districts including The Capitol District, Old Market Entertainment District, and Millwork Commons/North Downtown (NoDo), where visitors discover culinary delights, boutique shopping and various nightlife options.

Must-see attractions include the world-renowned Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium, selected by USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards as the nation’s “Best Zoo.” Also, The Durham Museum, an Art Deco former train station and National Historic Landmark, and Joslyn Art Museum, reopening in September 2024 after receiving an architecturally stunning 42,000-square-foot addition.

Discover a fresh, new destination that’s consistently ranked a “best value” city known for offering accessibility, affordability, and fun – with a dose of Midwestern hospitality.
